The vehicle testing team
Over and over tested – under toughest conditions
Before new developments for our product are certified according to international requirements and go into series production, they are thoroughly tested and even undergo crash tests if necessary. In the run-up to vehicle testing under real conditions the changes have already been checked for potential weaknesses by means of digital simulations.

The most renowned test track of the G-Class is her home mountain just outside the city of Graz: Schoekl Mountain. In this precipitous, rocky and material abusing terrain all relevant new developments are excessively tested since the market launch of the first G-Wagon in 1979. Here, vehicles are driven to the limits of resilience – all in the name of offering the most durable cross-country vehicle.

Our uncompromising quest for enduring reliability and precise workmanship certainly includes a certified quality management, which supervises processes and establishes strict guidelines for developments, materials used and final production. By thorough testing and controlling we confirm with every delivered vehicle the quality that Mercedes-Benz and our icon of a cross-country vehicle stand for. After all, reliability and robustness are essential criteria for our customers.
